A lacto-ovo diet is adequate for nutritional purposes, even for growing girls. You supplement it with protein bars anyway. A protein deficiency will produce lackluster and brittle hair, and brittle nails. If it continues it can reduce muscle mass and cause general weakness.

The primary problem for vegetarians is not protein, but vitamin B12, which is in egg yolks. So it sounds like you're fine.
