Why do we still blame the media for so many teenage girls having anorexia?

Anorexia is due to needing to be in total control of something in your life. So, why do we still say it's the media that has caused girls to be anorexic? Why do we still blame the media for so many teenage girls having anorexia?
This is not always the case. I was anorexic and it wasn't because I needed control. It was because I wanted to be ';beautiful';. I worshipped girls who were skeletons because I thought they were gorgeous and I wanted to look just like them. Do I blame the media for my problem? Not at all. I was impressionable and insecure and didn't have enough sense to say that it wasn't healthy or normal to look like them. Why do we still blame the media for so many teenage girls having anorexia?
Other than the star of ';Ugly Betty';, what girl in the media DOESN'T look like a twig...and it doesn't help that designers are making clothes for size 2.
Have you walked by a magazine rack lately or turned on the t.v.? The media very much publicized what is ';beautiful'; in a very celebrity obsessed society. I'm not saying it is media's fault entirely - there are obviously mental health and self-esteem issues in someone who has anorexia but if magazine covers and t.v. was littered with size 10 women as being ';beautiful'; there would possibly be a tad less pressure out there.
Because we don't want to answer the real question: Are these girls worth saving? The answer is, probably not. I have no sympathy for people who refuse to eat when there is so much starvation in this world.

Maybe this is evolution thinning the herd. Why stop it?

You notice that they don't have eating-disorders in, say, Dharfur or Iraq.
Well, the media DOES play a part in what teen girls believe is beautiful. It deceives them by making them believe it's normal to be a size 0 when in reality it's extremely unhealthy. Parents, peers and society DO play a part in influencing teen girls about their physical appearance, but the media does as well. Yet I don't feel the media should fully be held responsible for anorexia among teen girls. There ARE other factors.
because the dam parents dont like to accept the fact that there child was picked on or the parent just called them a fat *** and its fun to blamee the media hell i blame the media for everything (war death suicide murder) most of these thing cant even be controled by the media only by the parents thats y i curse so dam much i saw it on tv
