My teenage son was in a car with his unlicensed friend and his friend hit another car, can my son be at risk?

Can he get a ticket, will it go on his record? My teenage son was in a car with his unlicensed friend and his friend hit another car, can my son be at risk?
No only the driver. My teenage son was in a car with his unlicensed friend and his friend hit another car, can my son be at risk?
It's doubtful he will get a ticket since he wasn't driving, but it shows poor judgment on his part to be in a car with an unlicensed driver, assuming he knew his friend should not be driving.
he might get lectured by the police for riding in the car knowing his friend didnt have a license, but i doubt he will get a ticket, after all he wasnt the one driving so he wasnt at fault.
not at all.
He cant get ticketed but he can get sued. Good thing he's under 18 or it'd be a whole nother' story.
you, are in trouble
Not sure about a ticket. If they hit and ran then he could definetly get in trouble. I'd be more concerned about a civil law suit, since they can sue either person they can find for damages. I'd watch your son more careful. You are in fact responsible for everything he does. Especially if he knew his friend didn't have a license, that doesn't look so good for him.
I dont think so long as it wasnt you're car they were in. Thank god I never had an accident even though I drove for 6 months before I got my liscense.
It is not a crime to be a passenger in a car being operated by an unlicensed driver. The driver is the only one at fault for the accident.
He won't be in trouble, just make sure he says he didn't know he's friend didn't have a license, they can say anything!

Think about it, when was the last time you ask your friend if he/she had a driver license, if ever.

You or him will NOT be in trouble.
