im not sure if the father is a widow. The 3 boys have different personalitites, the eldest as ';a bit dumb';, the second son is the intelligent one and has a girlfriend, and the youngest ( im not sure). They also have an uncle who lives with them.Can anyone recall the title of a comedy sitcom about the life of 3 teenage boys living with their single dad?

It sounds like My Three Sons. The father was a widow. I agree with the previous answerer that your description of the sons doesn't fit the way the sons were portrayed.
One of the sons did get married on the show. I also think the 3rd son might have been adopted.
The father was played by Fred MacMurray. I forgot the name of the actor who played the uncle. Unfortunately, I believe both are dead now.
